Project

Using the example of digital building, Fit for BIM shows, which requirements digitalisation entails for skilled workers, how construction professions are changing and how institutions of vocational and higher education can include and impart these skills in their training in practice-oriented ways. The focus is on “Building Information Modeling” (BIM), a method for digital planning, execution and management of buildings, which is currently establishing as a standard in the EU.

Nine partners from four countries are jointly developing learning models for vocational and higher education to integrate the subject of digital building into vocational education and training, test the learning opportunities during training courses and initiate dissemination and transfer beyond the partnership.

With these new learning opportunities, attractiveness and quality of the vocational training courses are increasing. Trainees and students will become experts with extensive competences in digital construction. These competences ensure their employability, while at the same time they are strengthening the competitiveness and future viability of the companies. Finally, Fit for BIM drives the structural development of vocational training forward.
